Walter Edwards, creator of the scrapbook, is a descendant of one of the soldiers of Company H, 15th Massachusetts Volunteers, engaged in the Battle of Balls Bluff which occurred on Oct. 21, 1861, at Balls Bluff, overlooking the Potomac River, near Leesburg, in Loudoun County, Va.
